The 180 Degree Rule

The 180° rule is a basic guideline in film making that states that two characters in the same scene should always be facing the same way and shown to be staying on the same side of the frame.

(Look at picture on right)

 This method is used to prevent continuity being disrupted and to not break the eye line match.
