Mise En Scene

  • Establishing shot - urban/ city landscape. (Gotham City)
  • Prop - Harpoon - reflects threat or sinister action as it is a dnagerous weapon.
  • Prop - Clown Mask - One of the main characters are known as 'the Joker', so immediatly one becomes aware that this relates to him. Also craetes an eery feel, as some people fear clowns, despite their innocent persona.
  •  Costume - robbers wear Clown masks and suits. These two juxtapose each other which creates the idea that those who are participating in the robbery are slightly disturbed.
Editing
  • Jump cuts between charcters are used to create unsettling mood.
  • Paralell cutting used to connect people on rooftops with people on gound. This creates suspense.
Sound

  • Diegetic sounds - glass smashing, car engine, gun shots are used and enhance to create realsim and a sense of danger.
  • Non diegetic sounds - Sound track playing all throughout is quite dark and fast paced, and constructs a tense mood and suspense.
  • Dialougue - No dialouge for start, does not reveal anything for long time. Drops hints of main characters 'I know why they call him 'The Joker'.

  1. good - you have managed some analysis here. It would be so much more enhanced if you had screen grabs.
